CJP protest at Jantar Mantar: Hunger strike starts taking toll on protesters

The sit-in has entered the 19th day, though the fast started eight days later

The hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, the capital’s dharna hotspot, demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, has started taking toll on the protesters with activist Sonam Wangchuk losing seven kg and a JNU scholarHrishikesh Talukdar, an AISA activist, being hospitalised on the 11th day of the fast.

The sit-in has entered the 19th day, though the fast started eight days later. Since then, doctors said, Wangchuk has lost more than seven kg and blood pressure was recorded at 103/68 mm Hg in the sitting position and 111/73 mm Hg while lying down….
